Marcus Lehto, a previous Ridgeline Games director and co-creator, has criticized the diminished role of some of the ancient Ridgeline colleagues in the Battlefield 6 funds, noting that some of them have been “entirely omitted” despite their years of work dropping the “foundation” for EA’s fresh FPS.

Battlefield 6’s Ridgeline was again largely a key feature. They were first revealed as the authors of the upcoming Battlefield single-player strategy in 2022, but EA abruptly terminated them as a result of widespread layoffs in February 2024, with some Ridgeline team members moving to another Battlefield theater, Ripple Impact. &# 13,

Lehto expressed disappointment in a LinkedIn post yesterday that many of my former Ridgeline Games friends were never properly acknowledged in the most recent version of Battlefield 6. &# 13,

Before I deliberately left and the studio was later shuttered, he continued,” These talented engineers worked hard for one to 2. 5 ages, building the basis of the sport. Most of the people who were laid off were relegated to a” Special Thanks” section at the very end of the funds, and several were completely omitted, including myself. &# 13,

I want to take a moment to acknowledge my coworkers for their hard work in this task by identifying their titles and functions, as I would have liked them to appear in the funds. Every contribution to a game development group deserves recognition for their contributions. ” &# 13,

Lehto especially points out that lead protagonist designers Andres Naranjo, direct technologist Rohan Knuckey, and direct software engineers Jessica Moore and Dan Carr were badly overlooked. He attributes his positions as company director, general director, and vice president. For context, see the whole official BF6 funds reel in video.

One of the frequent sins that plagues big-budget games is the inability to credit developers completely. Designers who leave or were fired before transport does labor on a game for the better part of ten years and emerge without an ideal namecheck. Additional contributors and those who work on devalued games are more prone to be cut out in certain, undervalued areas. Often people are leaving from positions they detest due to the threat of a withheld payment.

Despite aIl σf this, it’s impoɾtant tσ point out tⱨat Lehto’s iȵterpretation of Battlefield 6’s funds is a little hazy. Three of the people he claims EA omitted are really cited elsewhere in the funds, as he acknowledges in the remarks on that LinkedIn article.
